That photo must've been taken very late in his life. He would've been executed for not shaving his forehead (and nose, assumably?) during the Qing dynasty.
Or, it could just be that the Shaolin Do guys have a sense of humor afterall, and thought it was a funny picture.

Don't you guys understand? Shaolin-Do is so bad ass because it was created by Wookies!
For those of you who discount the contributions the Wookie race has made to martial arts, just consider the career of Wookie fighter Tim Sylvia. It is not commonly known that Sylvia is a member of the wookie race, as he shaves his body daily in order to avoid anti-alien prejudice.
