Yo, any guys here with annectodal experience on laser therapy (photobiomodulation) for pain/inflamation relief?
My right wrist just fucking hurts when I bend (extend) the hand as in doing push ups, or when having a load on the palm (as in loading a barbell for bench presses or supporting the barbell when doing squats). My doctor says that it's osteoarthritis aggravated by a past fracture and several dislocations. I may have to go see a sports doctor or orthopedic to deal with this.
Last night I was squatting heavy, and no matter how far I placed my hands, it was bothering my wrist. Today I had to wrap it up real tight to ameliorate the pain. Anyways, today I had a session with my chiro, and he noticed my hand was wrapped. After getting my alignment, he gave me a session with laser therapy.
He said it has worked extremelly well for some patients - it may work for me, maybe it may not, so he suggested to wait and see until Monday.
I'm like, anything that can help, I'm for it. My hand is feeling a bit better (I cannot extend it, but I can flex it now.) Don't know if it's because of the laser or due to the icy-hot I've been putting around the clock.
Has anybody had experience with this therapy? Any success? I'm gonna go for it and see how it works.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Have you tried acupuncture? I've had great success using is to treat joint injuries and reduce inflammation.

I tried accupunture once on my back, and it worked great. I never tried for joint injuries, though. I can flex my right hand somewhat now (don't know if it's the laser therapy or the shitload of icy hot I've putting around the clock.)

Update: I don't know how this cold laser therapy works, but it surely does. No amount of NSAIDs or RICE had helped my right wrist like this **** is such a short amount of time. It also helps to keep the wrist immobilized with one of those wrist splints, but still, the therapy must be working
I'm having my next session tomorrow night. I still cannot put pressure on my palms (as in doing push ups), but I can flex and extend it. For anyone suffering from osteoarthritis, talk to your doc or chiro. This may be one more tool that can help you.
