    Employment and Training

I know this topic must have been covered before, but I couldn't find anything by searching.

I'm wondering what you guys have done when your job conflicts with your training schedule?

I work in retail, so my schedule shifts around. I'm only able to take 2 classes a week now.

Who else has had similar experiences?

I work for the government and belong to a union. I just leave.
When I am at work I perform at a high level, so they cant say squat.

Well, you either do one or the other. You can do other stuff if you can't get to your classes, like hit the gym or whatever.

I was having a similar discussion with another member regarding chosing a style based on where you live for employment.

    Quite simply for me:
no work no afford to do anything else.

I am pretty good about making sure I am able to make my scheduled time...sometimes I flat-out don't have the energy to go and make myself. If I have to miss a time due to work, I try to make it up on another day.

It is a balancing act. I work 50+ hours per week and have a 3 month old son.
I rarely get to train, but when I do, it is intense.

When junior gets older, I will then increase my number of workouts in a week.
You'll put different times in at different times of life.

But right now, I sit in an office I got fat again..... which sucks.

And since I'm fat....aardvarks is going to try to live out his BBW fetish on me!

I'm in a particularly shitty situation here, since I work at my TKD school, which ironically conflicts with my TKD training and severely restricts the training I can do outside of TKD.

I am also a civil servant. As long as I don't leave after lunch, booking out a few minutes early isn't a big deal. My only real balancing act between work and training is injuries; since I'm a professional with a large number of clients, I'm expected to be able to appear in court in one piece.

Can't you just post on Bullshido from work instead of actual training? They're like the same thing, right?

There's a gym within 10 minutes of my work and my dojo's 20 minutes away. So I train during lunch 5 days a week in some form or fashion.

If you're young I'd suggest busting your ass for a year or more to get to the point where you can pick and chose a job that fits in with your lifestyle.
