Yes. And there is a doctor ringside.

I don't have anything against cockfighting. It's totally cool with people to cut the beaks off of chickens and make their lives miserable when it's for food. But as soon as animals suffer as part of an entertainment venue people get their panties in a knot. It's quite possible that the chickens we breed for food have much worse lives than the cocks that are bred to fight. -

Well... I dont think you can say that mixed martial arts is the "functional" mans sport anyway. I've seen a few matches. Honestly, only diffrence between this and the UFC/Pride is that theres small joint manipulation (wrist, finger) and you can attack someones throat here. Aside from that, its like watching UFC with shots to the back of the head. Same amount of skill, same amount of determination. I have alot of respect for the guys in this league. I think they should make a seperate Vale Tudo league and televise these events.

Why not? They did it in the IVC days.

Of course I can't argue about the pay... Even if they could match what the UFC would pay fighters, the winner still has to go through three fights in one sitting to get the check. Although the pay is probably comparable to the early UFCs.
It's interesting to watch what happens without gloves. In several fights someone will have rear mount and will start throwing big punches at the back of their opponent's head only to back off a little and go for some slaps and elbows. I imagine that kills your knuckles.
