Out of curiosity, has anyone got any vid's of a Spinning Back Kick going wrong? I don't seem to remember ever seeing someone miss it and get punished though god knows you hear that it'll happen if you try it.

I do recall one failed SBK that followed by a good retribution for the **** attempt but I can't remember who. It was int eh UFC though. Most failed SBKs I see are thrown way too far out and not landing. In that instance you really have no chance of getting tagged unless the dude super fucking fast and on the rush.

On the other hand, when have you ever seen someone do a back kick properly in MMA, or let alone land one?

But it is probably hard to botch one, unless they sidestep it and grab your leg while you're facing backwards...

Someone else commmented on it, but in case you missed it, just one more friendly reminder: CLINCH IS NOT A TECHNIQUE. Also, it can't be classified as high risk for anyone who is comfortable in that position.

Rear Naked Choke. Rear, not reverse. You getting slammed while attempting one means that you shouldn't bother with fighting anymore. Try knitting instead.

As far as highest percentage move in MMA its the ARM BAR.

Basic, first day, walk on the mats, like white bread with butter ARM BAR.

    have you ever boxed?

it's hard to box on one leg.. and if you know how to evade.. no, you don't need your hands to defend your head.

agreed as far as highest percentage goes. armbars are the best joint lock ever.

i'd still say it's safer to apply from above than below.. if you apply it from guard you can possibly get slammed or get your guard passed.

I believe Chris Rock said it best when he said: "Hell, you can drive a car with your feet if you want to, it doesn't mean it's to be done."

That's what I think of a purely evasive style of defense. You really just can't dodge every strike coming your way, even if you're a pro.
