    Noob looking for school...Houston, TX

Hey...thanks for the site...I'm glad I found it.

I'm looking for a good school in West Houston. In specific, either Cypress or Katy. Schools suggested need to be in or NEAR these two areas of town as I have to ensure family time and also be able to practice.

I'm looking to lose some weight and increase my self-defense skills from basically a beginner level. Also, I'm not interested in TKD.

Any suggestions or website links would be helpful...thanks.

So Twink, you decided to go ahead and register huh? Cool. Don't forget to review your dojo.

Thanks. I checked out their website and I like it, they offer a lot of different things, but it's a bit far away for me. Their North Houston location is closer to home, but it looks ike that location only offers BJJ.

There do seems to be a few BJJ gyms in th area...so at least I'll have a few to campare.

    Thanks again!

There are several very, very good schools in Houston and I usually mention more of them, but in all honesty I was just being lazy. You may want to seach some of my earlier posts on the subject.

Do yourself a favor though and at least go by there once and check it out.
