    Hell yeah! Hell no!
Noone was in my weight class (147 lbs and under) so they had me match with a 172 lber and 210 lber, whom I both wrestled to a standstill (points even) but they were given the matches on "advantages".

Any awesome run-ins with the ninjas?
There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.

They were there a different day.

    On the comedy front:

-There was a 120 lb white belt kid who had no competitors, so they picked a TKD black belt out of the stands to be his opponent for the division.

-there was a kuk sool won demo that had the big pink fans going on, and it is every bit as ridiculous in real life and more so. Also they caught kicks with their belts and tied each other up which was rather uncomfortably homoerotic.

I didnt attent the Austin Martial Arts Festival, because it didn't seem too well planned this time around. The website hadn't been updated since August! And the rules for competition not accessible.
    What a joke!

All the San shou people were from the same Tai Chi school in houston, so they got paired against the various continous sparring people, which looked like a young kuk sool won guy, a tough old karate dude, and a heavily built TKD or karate guy.

Match number one- Sweep the leg johnny

Kuk Sool guy versus a very angry looking chinese fellow.

Kuk sool guy begins tapping out some quick chambered roundkicks, and some sidekicks as a stop-kick. He looks pretty fast, and racks up some points. He gets cocky, and kicks toward the head...........and promptly gets his leg caught and then swept. Tai chi guy lands in side control and holds him a second. They stand up and the KSG starts trying to throw some ridgehands, which gets him shoulder-stopped.

    4-5 times.

    Right out of the ring.

Tai Chi guy starts closing with jabs until he's close enough to sweep the front leg, rinses and repeats.

Second fight is Old Karate Dude vs Angry Tai Chi guy#2(hereafter OKD versus ATCG1)

OKD straps up and steps out on the mat in the biggest groin guard i've ever seen in my life.
He strikes an old skool karate guard(front arm 45 degrees toward the ground, fully extended, rear arm by the face). His opponent walks out, they call fight and he strikes a horse stance. For real. He runs straight into his much younger opponent flurrying punches, and gets clinches immediately, then taken down. Rinse and repeat a few times, before old dude figures out to drop his center of gravity so he doesn't get thrown......at which point he just gets punched in the face repeatedly, until his helmet flies off(he looses his helmet a total of 6 times during the match.

Ok, back to work, i'll post more later.
