    Nothing new here at all.

Two guys at ATT-Orlando, both up and coming pro-fighters, have a long and dominant wrestling history BUT are both BJJ White Belts.

Both of these guys won NAGA Champion Belts in the Expert No-Gi Grappling Division at the last NAGA in Florida. The guys they were competing against were.......you guessed it BJJ purple, brown, and black belts.

labeling the use of wrestling technique to help augment BJJ technique as a whole separate system is hardly new and far from novel, its just good grappling.

They have found this new way of countering techniques and leverage with raw power.
    A paradigm shattering development indeed.
No more tedious drilling and technical work.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

No, brother, what we've found, brother, is that if you train hard, say your prayers, and take your vitamins, brother, you don't need none of that jujutsu, brother, because, brother, you have the power of HULKAMANIA!

Yeah, we had a wrestler at our school (Gracie Barra Bellingham) who had been training for a few months completely destroy the white belt division at the last Tiger Balm tourny up in Vancouver, B.C. He got two subs and won the final match on points. It shows that he has positional dominance down correctly and that he can get subs on newbs. Give him someone who isn't quite a new and the submissions become harder and it's all about the positional domination again.

An equalizer for that is submission only tournaments where no one gets points for anything other then a sub. You can usually tell who is the better well rounded grappler and who is just the wrestler with some submissions under his/her belt.

    Small point but...

When Robson is shown teaching the RNC, he switches from normal hooks to a body triangle. He does this in what I would consider a very sloppy way for a supposed BJJ black belt. Even without particularly long legs I would expect a bb to be able to do it easily just with hip movement, not having to reach down and use his hand.

I actually love wrestlers with a few months of experience in tournaments. Nothing says "Knee Bar" like getting stacked inside your guard.....

Well, that's why you are only a Purple Belt.:)

Isn't this the way to go?

I mean we can now archive these threads and say this is the true start of where BJJ went Mcdojo then into Bullshido.

Damn, I will start using my hand and no hip movement at all when I do it then. That way, I can see my black belt being awarded before Christmas! ;)

Mind you, the UGC which he is referring to where his guys "each take three divisions, begin, intermede an advance" is Robson's own tournament!
