Taiaki possibly directed at unenori aswell or to one taaki.

There's also the Reiroshu included. but it doesnt say to whom it was directed at.

Takuan & Musashi weren't even contemporaries if I recall correctly. That myth originates with a novel based on Musashi's life.

I'm sorry about the fucktarded comment, BudoMonkey. I thought you were Lebell for a second.

    .
    Takuan Soho 1573-1645

Musashi's book of the 5 spheres was written in 1643, so 2 years before Soho's death.

Now i would like to tell a joke a Chinese guy told me some years ago.

During the war in China a group of Japanese military officers are bragging about their katanas.

The first one said: Hah!, my sword is so sharp i could chop of the head of two Chinese guys in just one strike!

The second: Phhs! Thats nothing, my sword is in my family for so and so long ad its of such good quality that i can severe the heads of three Chinese guys at the same time!!!

Thats impressive and the guys shut up except for one officer, he walks forward draws his katana and states: Amateurs, my sword is so sharp i can EASILY chop of the heads of 6 guys at the same time!

As the officers disagree and call him a bragger a korean comes crawling: 'Can i try please?'

No worries. If it's the book I'm thinking about, "the lone samurai", it's probably because people misread it. It indicates throughout that it is likely that many of musashi's principles appear to be derived from Takuan, as he was most likely aware of takuan's works, but makes sure to mention that it is all conjecture and no proof to them ever having met or influenced eachother is recorded.

Stupid people read between the lines, make assumptions, ignore the obvious.
