    Hello all,

I am currently watching Contender Asia and I have a couple of questions:

    a) Is the clinch - throwdown awarded points to the thrower?

    b) I recall one of the participant (French guy) calling John Wayne fat. Come on, 147lbs (67kg) is considered fat in MT? Is MT a sport for the skinny?

p/s the female hostess has a pretty face, but a bit Skinny for my taste.

I just watched the first ep. Pretty entertaining. Just one small question. Why the **** is there no one from Netherlands. That's like the capital of MT in Europe.

Obvious descrimination against Dutch pepul or something so insignificant I couldn't give two shits? Hmm... (It's a toughie)

You don't get "points" for the throws but it shows dominance in the clinch and wears on your opponents morale.

He's "fat" in the sense that he's overweight for the designated weight class for this show, so when he fights he has to cut a bunch of weight. The problem was that if he fought first he'd have to cut a bunch of weight in a short period of time which wreaks havoc on your body and he'd be in poor shape during the match.

I think they did a decent job.

For whoever asked about the challenges: They have to follow the regular boxing Contender format, plus I suppose it create a bit of variety in the show and plays with the odds a bit.

I don't think much of the female host. She sounds scared and awkward most of the time.

The official site (contenderasia.com) has quite extended recaps of the show, which seems to include bits not shown on tv. For instance, Preacher stating he is a better fighter than Soren after JWP didn't choose him first.

I tried searching both the site and the forum but I couldn't find any full eps. If I can find them I'd be happy to put them up here.
