Is sanshou any good?

I was watching a Cung Le fight and I was pretty impressed,however that was just one fight,thus i can't build my opinion on that alone,so i wanted to know whether this martial art is really any good or not. If you know something about it your input will be very much appreciated.

San Shou in a really rough way to explain is like Chinese Muay Thai. Knee's, elbows, the works. Just there a bit more power oriented. Most San Shou matches have big swings and nice MT foot work. It doesn't cover ground game heavily, but still a pretty solid striking art.

Sanshou is standup striking with takedowns. Pretty much the same as doing muay thai with wrestling. They stand you up back up if you hit the ground though.
