Jim Lacy and the Lunacy of Iron Palm

Peedee Shaolin, in his latest article discusses Jim Lacy's "18 Daoist Palms" style:

This guy has been on my hit list for quite awhile boys and girls. I had always knew that he had, in my own humble opinions, views and beliefs about his martial art that I would call "fukking crazy" but in the 11/02 Black Belt Magazine he really talks about the "more interesting" side of his art.

You can also view a video of his Iron Palm in action from his website here:

As always, feel free to provide your comments and rate the article.

I put this in the comments, but... Not all kung fu practitioners are stupid, like this guy seems to be. Take a look at a real iron palm guy.

Iron Palm is bullshit. Anyone who claims to do it is full of **** as well.
And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.

bull or not, people still buy into it, you have to remeber, people are gulable. i could go out, get my own black belt, and claim to be a tenth degree black belt.
so if this guy wants to sell "Iron Palm Kung Fu" to the world, its not my wallet hes getting into, and im sure people would see trough his bs after a litle training.

Iron Palm is bull ****? Probably what you know as iron palm is bullshit. Iron palm was originally designed to toughen up kung fu practitioner's body. This is no different then what they do in muay thai. Then some people wanted to claim that they could do all these amazing things via chi location blah blah blah.....Guys bending spears with the point in their throat....sheeeesh look how long it takes them to get ready for it. Its about as bad as these powerrr hourrr guys tearing phone books and thanking god for giving them the power to do so.....blah blah blah blah....never mind all the steroids they are probably taking or the 14 hours per day they spend in the gym. They still need help wiping their ass.

Ha! I'm new to martial arts, but I grew up around this guy, around when I was 10! My grandfather learned Iron Palm from his master, Doo Wai. My grandfather could break coconuts with his palm, which I feel is impressive because he was learning while he had emphazima(spelling?). I remember going to Jim's house with my mom and he would always give me those Tiger Milk candy bars. I really respected him then. Now that I read his comments, that respect has turned to laugther. I've seen him do some impressive stuff, but not once have I seen him shoot fire from his hands or give anyone cancer. I like the fact that he now lives in a trailor and his wife only wants vistors if they are willing to give $100,000 to invest, or to "recieve knowledge"(section about visiting). I'm sad to see what he's become. Anyway, just sharing my experience with him.

I am glad you finally see that Jim Lacy is a fraud. Who is your grandfather? because Doo Wai taught very very few people.
