TUF Team Hughes vs Team Serra

Might as well get a thread going on this latest installment. Can't say much as of yet because I don't really have the gumption to go look for info on something that will be out on TV in short enough order. But based on the previews there will be...... lottsa drama, more juvinile house destruction, another couple in house fights and we will probably hear 20 thousand more untterences of Danas new favorite word. That and we will get to listen to 6 weeks of Hughes masterbating himself about himself all over himself and how horrible he thinks Sarra is. Proving once again that not only is Hughes a prick but a fantastic prick at that (albiet he's gonna hand Serra his own head in their fight).

I used to like Hughes.
That was until he showed his utter lack of class after a loss.

I dont think Serra can win, but I am rooting for him.

Of course it seems from the previews that Serra has suddenly come down with a case of "the big head" himself.

I still enjoy watching Matt Hughes. I never really had any illusions that he was this wonderful homespun guy. Being from this area, you understand that the TV stereotype of the humble, simple farm folk only really exists on TV. Being from a farm doesn't necessarily make you a humble hard-working sage of the cornfield; it's just a place to live and a job to do.
But he's a really good wrestler and an MMA phenom, and if I can watch Al Franken and laugh at his jokes, I can surely watch Matt Hughes beat people up without necessarily agreeing with his attitude otherwise.

Don't have any input on the fighters. However, in the finale I pick serra by KO/TKO in rd 1. I think Hughes will underestimate him just like GSP did. When you combine that with the fact that GSP's standup/standup defense is a ton better than Hughes and still got KO'd, you get a formula for humble pie.

Hughes had a badly over-inflated sense of his standup ability going into his last fight with GSP. I don't think he'll make that mistake again, so I have Hughes by GNP.

I will be surprised if Hughes GnP's Serra. If Hughes wins it, he's taking a drawn out decision, or a flash KO in a flurry on the feet.

Some can't deal with the added stress of being in charge. Much less in charge of what appears to be another batch of drama whoring, disrespectful little cunts. Be about as stressfull as herding chickens with a fox.

My grip is with Danas posturing and grandstanding about his single handed valiant effort to "civilize" MMA. Then he casts a bunch of over grown children to be on a TV show viewed by millions and then bitches that they make him, the UFC and MMA look bad.

I'd love to take some of those bitches out on a 6 month deployment on a sub or even a surface ship. Maybe then they wouldn't complain about a 6 week paid vaction in a swank ass house with some of the best concentrated training they will ever recieve for basically free. I am so fucking sick of hearing how the house is a "pressure cooker".

You have a point about Serra.

As for the guys being juveniles on the show...I agree. It gets old sometimes.
They need to grow up. Dana acts all suprised that he put all those egos in one house and suddenly a real fight breaks out.

What a fucking shocker.

What I hate is all the posturing and wearing their hats sideways, and bullshit like that.

I hope Serra wins. Hughes still seems over confident and cocky.

He seems to forget that

A) Serra is an outstanding grappler
B) He really wants to win and I dont think he is underestimating Hughes like Hughes is underestimating him
C) Serra seems to have really come a long way in his striking game.
