    The general discussion is a locker room environment that primarily deals with what does and does not work in martial arts. TKD gets a lot of flack because of the lack of proper guard, the trend towards point sparring and 'tag' based competition, and the over emphasis on high kicks and aerial kicks.
    Other arts catch flack for other things.
    In general you will not get lambasted unless you make claims that you can not prove. I have very very rarely see anyone get trashed ONLY for being a TaeKwonDaycare.
    Where the issue usually arrises is when some 19 year old 1st dan BB opens his own school and claims to be teaching "Uber Defense Cage Fighting FU!".
    Then you have an unqualified instructor making outrageous claims. You get the idea...
