Its mostly Knockdown Karate but I know they have some good kickboxers. If he is ONLY interested in Muay Thai/Kickboxing it would at least be a good place to start and ask about more kickboxing focused schools. Since they sponsor kickboxing promotions they have to have contacts with other schools that may be mor ein line with what he wants. -

They used to be primarily a performance wushu school that also did some San Da, but as I understand, they're turning more into a San Da school that also does performance wushu. One of my close friends trained there, and I joined in one of their classes once while visiting him. It's pretty good, as I understand it. A bit expensive, though.

They have a great Muay Thai program and have great fighters that regularly compete. They also keep pretty close close with other Kickboxing/Muay Thai/Jiu-Jitsu/MMA schools in Chicago (like Extreme Kung Fu), so alot of cross training between the schools happens, along with the occasional smoker. -
