    I smoked a pack a day for around 10 years but quit about 2 and a half years ago when I started training.

    Never smoked or used tobacco.

    There's only one guy I train with who does and despite his strength and fitness, he tends to double over to catch his breath after any intense work on the mats.

    I smoke about a pack a day. I'm sure it affects my cardio, but won't really know how bad until I see the difference when I quit. I have been smoking for so long that I don't know how good my cardio can be. Right now my training keeps off the excess weight and I don't run much but can pass my Army PT test so I guess this keeps me in a state of denial as to my potential.

    I've found that my cardio was 75% hampered by tobacco. Meaning that where my peak endurance would be 15 mins smoking, it would be an hour without.
