Gonzaga would have done better. I've broken my nose before and I was done. I couldn't breath, I couldn't see, I had the worst migraine; touching my nose was agony.

But we could go on with the "what if's" all day.

Damn, I didn't know Randy broke his arm. Pretty amazing that he still won.
Seems like adrenaline does a lot for these guys, I remember Tim Sylvia getting his arm broken, and he didn't feel a thing.

Yes, but you're a mere human.

    He's Randy Couture.

Well, now we can add to the discussion, that if Randy hadnt had a broken arm his jab would have staid as strong as it was in that first punch.
while it is a bit of a double standard, i still look at it as:

    - the broken nose was accidental, and if intentional would have been a foul (headbutt)

    - the broken arm was intentional, and legal

while i still believe Randy is a major badass and probably would have won (which i initially thought wouldn't happen, but i am overly impressed with his performance) and even more so now after seeing about the broken arm, i STILL think Napao would have put up a MUCH better fight had the nose not gotten squashed, and you have to admit there was room for a surprise upset a la CroCop with a guy with as much power as Gonzaga.

Not only did he fight with a broken left arm, when he secured the TKO victory with Gonzaga on the ground, he was THROWING LEFT HANDS ONLY! Again, this was described in the article as a CLEAN BREAK. Did he even know it was broken during the fight? If I wasn't on Neildo's train pic before, I'm buying a ticket.

Sounds exactly like what people said when Randy was talking about coming back.

I'd say he was 2-0 in upsets.
    Surprise Surprise.
