I see that you are 18. Keep in mind that some people find it nearly impossible to gain weight until they reach 21. So don't despair if you don't gain weight regardless of your efforts.

Don't worry too much about calories right now. Just eat regularly every 2-3 hours, and you'll do fine in terms of caloric intake. I strongly suggest you read this thread

But if you really want to know how much calories you need, you need to do some calculations. Read the following (specially post #10)

Read this for flexibility and injury prevention, this, this and this for supplementation, this on grip conditioning, and this on staph. New: On strenght standards, relationships and structural balance. Shoulder problems? Read this.

New To Weight Training? Get the StrongLifts 5x5 program and Rippetoe's "Starting Strength, 2nd Ed". Wanna build muscle/gain weight? Check this article. My review on Tactical Nutrition here.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Oh and what can any of you tell me about maltodextrin???
Not all cardio makes you lose weight and strength. Try doing some heavy bag rounds, tire flips, sledgehammer drills, sled drags and things like that. They'll work your heart and lungs (granted, not usually as well as hard running) and give you good strength and endurance gains.

You can't assert that you eat plenty if you can't quantify how much you do eat...

This is a reasonable split. How much are you lifting though? What is your current 1 rep max for each of these lifts and how much do you work out with? You're less likely to see a great deal of muscular hypertrophy if you're training with light resistance.

They're not necessarily mutually exclusive. If you continue to neglect cardio training and your body weight increases, your endurance will decline geometrically and your athletic and fighting ability will suffer.
