Hey Mixed, are you still studying in Cromwell? I stopped by and watched a class and I'm thinking of starting there.

you went to Japanese Karate Inc. right? I am still studying there. I am there almost every day besides wednesday and thursday. I deeply recommend that school. The teacher was a live in student of Mas Oyama's, he will push you to be better than you ever thought possible. My real name is Colin, look for me when you go there.

Actually, I was gonna go there Wednesday for the "free" class -- shhhhh, I'm probably gonna sign up anyway. I'm sure I'll catch up with you sometime, though.

Compared with what I'm doing now, I'm VERY excited. I've only went to 15 classes so far and the only dude there that's a white belt and around my age isn't so much into it. Everyone else is either a black belt or a junior. :(

When I stopped in Cromwell, Shihan Fujiwara assured me there were plenty of people in their mid-30's and PLENTY of kumite. I was almost convinced as soon as I was walking up to the place and the windows were fogged out -- it was a Saturday morning and everyone was drenched in sweat. :)

Sounds about right haha. Yeah, there's plenty of kumite (read: me getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter) to be had and the classes are awesome workouts. If you want my opinion it's an excellent dojo and Shihan Fujiwara is an excellent instructor.

WOW -- that was fun. Free class out of the way. Signing up tonight. My hip is still killing me if I sit still for to long. Cant do sit ups to save my life.

My wife was in shock when she saw me wobbling in after class Friday.

She said, "What did they do to you?"

Me, "They tried to kill me!"

Her, "You need to go back there."

Obviously she's in just for the life insurance.... :(

Well dude we'll do our best not to kill you. As long as I'm in here though I'm hunting for a Judo school, about to pop over into the JMA forum and ask there. Anybody in here know any good Judo schools in CT?
