I love the part where he teaches you to get yourself into a triangle. Rofl. It's one of their guard passes!

Yeah but there is a reason for it. Not a good one but one still the same.

Apparently the G3 (Gracie Gift Guardpass) embodies all the principles needed to pass the guard. (stop looking at me funny) If a soldier gets good at this then they will understand the later guardpasses (stop laughing) I have to teach the G3 for testing purposes but I always teach others ones as well.

What is the Gracie Gift? I can't ever find a description of it when I do a search and that video won't play for me.

I'll pass on that pass too, but most of that video is good solid BJJ 101 imo.

Sorry, Asia. But the risks outweigh the benifits. Most soldiers don't get past lvl 1, and then they remember only remember a few of the basics. This should not be one that is remembered. Ever.

It's a stack pass done with one arm in and one out. It does actually work but only if you've got real good posture and are very careful with the arm in and keep the hips controlled... like Yrkoon9 said too much risk, and I really don't understand why it's being taught as a number one pass when they could just as easily do a double under pass.

Trust me, I agree. The problem is if I certify someone Level I and they go on to Level II or III they have to do the drill that way. However in Level II you there are much much better guard passes thought.
