Any system that allows 5 year olds to get black belts is a flawed system... be it for self confidence or to bulk up your numbers, the ATA is an American system of Korean business practices... flood the market and saturate it until it becomes devalued and mocked. The amount of "champs" touting their red or black or combinations thereof should easily identify some major problems. please note the consistancies of people who never attended a single tournament or have severe physical/congnitive disabilties holding esteemed titles as "STATE CHAMPION" or "WORLD CHAMPION".
i do not doubt there are high quality ATAers out there, but those, again are few and far in between. those that cross train have a better outlook than those who are strictly ATA. -

Have you trained with a tai chi practitioner that trains alive? Also, look in Bas' big book of combat Vol 1, page 491-BB in TKD. And true, just because a teacher is tough doesn't make his student tough. Come to the next dogbrothers gathering and we can match up and see what your definition of tough is.
