Combat Sports International: Traditional Shin-Instep Guard
Having tried the Pro-Style Shin-Instep Guards and being very disappointed I switched to these. Right away I was infinitely more pleased with these.
First the good. These guards offer solid padding and coverage. The velcro and elastic straps are comfortable enough. While not quite as flexible or as light as the Pro-Style, they've still got good flexibility and weight. Where they really excel in comparison to the Pro-Style is the fact that they, for the most part, stay put once you've got them on. Any shin guard is going to slip a little as you get sweaty, but these seem to do a nice job of slipping very little at all.
As for the bad, I can't really say much. The only thing I can think of is that they are larger than the Pro-Style and consequently may feel to bulky for smaller individuals. I, being 6'2'', didn't really have this problem, but I've known some smaller guys that felt they were a bit big for them. That's really the only negative I can come up with though.
For the money, I think these are pretty fantastic shin-instep guards. I'd definitly recommend these to anyone doing lots of kickboxing.
edit: added 7 for Material/PQ because of the elastic footstraps, which I've seen break on a couple pairs (though not often enough to be concerned). 8 in protection. They protect pretty well, but will definitly still leave a mark.

Helpful review--I'm going to try these and skip the "pro-style" POSes. Thanks.
I purchased a pair of these and am very happy with them so far. :)
Your review sealed the deal, Wolf. Thanks.
Cool, those were the ones I was planning on buying.
