That fight he had with Vitor was a just a learning experience for Silva. Plus he has changed as a fighter since then, he will not make the same mistake. The reason the UFC is not scheduling a fight between Lidell and Silva is because they want Lidell to return to his winning ways, because they know that there is a big chance that Silva will knock him out.

He actually DOES make the same mistake he made in that fight, namely opening his pipe too wide for straight punches. He just doesn't do it as badly as he used to. But fundamentally henderson and crocop were exploiting the same weakness vitor did. Incidentally, I think this is the same hole that chuck leaves.

Your right, Crocop did exploit his weakness, but as far as Henderson they were both throwing crazy hooks and Henderson caught him with one. Henderson did not catch him with a straight punch. Now Crocop was hitting him with nothing but straight punches and then set him up with his infamous left high kick, but Silva will not lose to Henderson again if they ever face each other in the near future.

Vitor is a never-was, though. Which is odd. Someone who was so devastating is now...well, where is he? I think we need a "UFC 1-15: Where Are They Now?" show. I think Wandy has vastly improved, though he does have holes. But at this stage, someone rushing Wandy like that, regardless of how open his center might be, is going to catch a rare Silva takedown into total G'n'P ownership.
