The Natural and The Axe Murderer training together

The Natural and The Axe Murderer
    August 15th, 2007 17 Comments

MMA legend Wanderlei Silva hit the gym in Vegas today. Hes in town for the next two weeks from the Fizogen-Xtreme Couture in Wellington, Florida. Wanderlei is helping Randy to get ready for Gabriel Gonzaga.

Heres what Randy had to say about working out with the Brazilian legend, Its great to have him in the gym. Im anxious to pick his brain. To explore his training tactics and techniques. Im also looking forward to building a rapport with him going forward. We had some good goes today. We were working out of half guard and the mount. Hes very tough in both positions.

Wanderlei says hes glad to be here in Vegas with The Natural. And that hes impressed with Randy. Hes strong on the ground. He has very good jiu jitsu and excellent stamina. Hes stronger than I thought.

Wanderlei even made a prediction for the main event at UFC 74. Randy is good for this fight. Hes ready. Very good boxing. He will win.

As for his next fight, Silva tells us hell be stepping back into the Octagon on December 29th. He hopes it is against Chuck Liddell.

After the UFC 74, you can catch Wanderlei at the Fizogen-Xtreme Couture MMA Training Center in Wellington, Florida.

Of interesting note is that Wanderlei Silva`s Chute Boxe teammate Mauricio Rua will be fighting Randy Couture`s current stable mate Forrest Griffin at UFC 76.

my money (none) is on Randy...that man knows how to train for fights. I'm still laughing about the Tim Silvia match...it's a mistake for anyone to write that man off....he's a beast.

Remember when the two of them fought?

THey all asked anderson silva who he thought would win.

    And silva kept saying

    "randy....randy...randy"

The Axe Murderer in my old hometown? I'm surprised, there isn't alot in the way of... anything really, in Wellington.
