I'm sure it's cool to hate TBK and all but if he's questioning the FOOT PLACEMENT how about a pic or vid that actually shows the foot placement in question? I don't think he's questioning that RNCs can be applied, or started, from a standing position.
As for the sequence, the sequence is crap. There's the little conceptual HOP from pic 2-3, the needless baroqueness of bending a guy over with strikes, then straightening him up just to throw him, and then there's the final few frames, which do NOT depict a series of locks, guys - I've seen this done in demos. That is wrapping the guy's arm around his neck as though for an arm triangle, and then pulling on it to do a sort of shiho-nage type throw that SPINS HIM AROUND as though his arm were a pull-cord.
It's a very silly throw.
I don't think anyone is questioning the stupidity of the entire sequence.
When applying a standing RNC wherein both of the your feet are on the ground and you remain behind the person, Mav's right, you can't stand square to your opponent unless you are significantly taller than the person you're choking. Then you just hug them and pull upward.

If your opponent has a significant height advantage over you, say four inches or more, then you must essentially drag them backwards until their heels are dragging the ground. I could be wrong, but I believe the shorter you are, the less useful this particular type of standing RNC is.
I typed this out because I've used this move in previous altercations. When I applied it to a guy who was six inches taller than I was, I felt my position was not stable unless his posture was completely broken and consequently ended up dragging him backwards for about ten feet. If I had been somewhere that lacked that space, I could have wound up in trouble.
Again, the mere fact that TBK even has to question how to do a standing RNC speaks volumes for his combative knowledge. If this were the equivalent of DHS, there would be no mercy.
