    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Gagging, phlegm, nasal drippage, spitting a lot etc...

    Does anyone suffer from nasal drainage problems that cause you to gag a lot when doing physical exercise? I have always had this problem and its why I like to train outside so I can spit a lot.

    I always feel like my phlegm sticks inside my throat and causes me to gag when I do a lot of punches and kicks and its ruins my blasting out energy motions like being able to do combos well. I always feel like training outside so I can spit. Its clogs my throat and stops beathing and my hart rate gets wack.


    Anyway does anyone know how to help this problem or any ways to deal with this so I can fight better?

    Have you seen an allergist or otorhinolaryngologist?

    I suffered from that for a long time until I got corrective surgery back in 95 - broken nose + cement dust + allergies + humid Florida weather == the suck. Then I had it again a few years ago, phlem, blood and **** coming out for no reason. There is a related thread here JFYI : http://www.bullshido.net/forums/show...68#post1525168

    Make sure you don't get a humidifier or a waterless vaporizer. It has to be a steam vaporizer. I don't put any medicine on it, just clean water and salt. When it begins to produce steam, I breath it through my mouth and nose, filling my lungs as much as possible.

    Then I hold it for a few seconds (you'll have the urge to cough your guts out.) Then exhale as deeply as possible. Do it forcefully but without overdoing it. After a couple of repetetitions, you will be forced to cough and/or blow your nose, and a lot of **** is going to come up, brown mucus, water, coagulated blood that's been there for ages (coughing breaks smalls blood capilaries, which causes small amounts of coagulated blood to stay there forever.

    Do that in the mornings and at night. Make sure you always use a clean batch of water and salt. Do not put any vicks medicine in it. This is exactly how I've been keeping that at bay for ages.

    Another thing you may want to try is Hot Yoga (assuming you don't have a heart condition.) Doing yoga and deep breathing for 90 minutes in a room filled with 90F+ hot, clean air will make you sneeze and cough a lot of crap.

    You should see a doc as soon as possible, but in the meantime, you should get a vaporizer and use it. It will make things more manageable.

    Holy crap dude, you had **** coming out of your nose? Dude, that stinks!

    I used to get runny noses and stuff from training. I think once I cleaned up my diet it went away.

    when i saw the title of this thread

    i thought it was going to be about porn. i've been watching some bad **** recently.



    On a serious note, i'm convinced i have excess mucus production or something, i have to scrape that **** out about five times a day or it stops me breathing through my nose. A good clearout before every training session is required. I was told recently that this may be a warning sign of diabetes, which already runs in my family.

    If that stuff wasn't ****, it was very close to it. And sadly, it stank. Not to be too graphic, it was mucus, ancient coagulated blood and pus. There were times that I could feel the stench on my own nose, specially during the months of March-April and August through October.

    I started having this when I moved from Cali to Florida. Incidentaly, I had the best health (lung-and-nose wise) in the dry weather of LA. After my op, the situation improved on my nose, but I would have this chronic cough that would not go away (plus my nose was always runny.)

    It was until I did hot yoga and started using the vicks vaporizer at the slightest sign of a cold or flu that the nose **** dissapeared.

    I went to the doctor about it and they did an allergy test and I wasnt allergic to anything they tested me on and they did a lot. They said I have some stupid issue where my sinus doesnt drain properly and gets stuck in some areas and drops down my throat causing me to gag. I know if I dont drink to much sweet things I will not have as much phlegm. But the problem just wont go away. IT SUCKS when I wear a mouth guard. It really kills me. I train best without one but I want to get used to using a mouth guard so if I spar people I will breath well. Maybe I should get a new mouth guard and mold it better?

    Anyway I always hack out loogies when training but when i was at a martial arts gym I somehow worked hard not to have to spit and it was hard. Something I would spit on my uniform sleeve but I was already sweety anyway so you couldnt tell.

    That would put you at 38 years old.
