    The ATF and You!

Let's use this thread to discuss the National Firearms Act (NFA) and Title II destructive devices, silencers, brass knuckles, and all the other wonderful things that make life beautiful and tree stumps cower in fear.

I have no personal experience with this, so I'm hoping some of you do.

Especially since I'd like to buy things that burn through wads of cash in short periods of time.

Has anyone had experience in transferring NFA weapons? I've always been particularly interested in the idea that:

Therefore, an individual who lives in a location where the chief law enforcement officer will not sign a transfer form can still own an NFA item if he/she owns a corporation.
I own a Texas based S-Corp, and I may well be the administrator of a soon to be formed trust.

Would the ATF then conduct a check on all officers of a corp, the officer(s) making the request, none of them, or something worse (send everyone to Gitmo, "just in case")?

Yeah good question. Does your corporation employ lawyers? I hear most do.

I have none of staff (in fact, no staff these days) but a few on retainer. I'd prefer not to spend money to find out...

Considering the ridiculous ease with which one can create some sort of nonperson legal entity, this is surely something the ATF if not many larger PD/SD's have dealt with more than a few times.

I'm surprised Phost is even considering any NFA weapons since last year he wasn't sure he could even get spousal approval for the purchase of a 1911... :eusa_naug

Notice how grampappy has his finger on the trigger soon. I think problems like this have a way of resolving themselves.
