    American Sambo Association Training Camp

    2007 Sambo Summit Training Camp

    Friday, September 14 – Sunday, September 16
    Three Hard Days of Sambo Training
    Limit 30 Attendees

    Instructors:

    Coach Aaron Fields, Sea Town Sambo, Seattle, Washington

    Coach Stephen Koepfer, New York Combat Sambo

    CoaCH David Machin, Machin Do Center, Staten Island, NY

    Coach Dayn DeRose, South Mountain Martial Arts, NJ

    Camp Schedule:

    Friday:
    11am: Check-in
    12pm – 2pm: Ground fundamentals (Koepfer - Instructor)
    Positions, movement, control drills
    2pm – 3pm: Lunch
    4pm – 6pm: Standing fundamentals (Fields - Instructor)
    Falls, footwork, gripping, basic throws
    6:30pm – 7:30pm: Dinner
    8pm: Recreation time (Watch sambo and other martial
    art events/movies; hang out at beach, etc)
    10pm Lights Out

    Saturday:
    6am – 7am: Conditioning games - at beach (Fields/Koepfer -
    Instructors)
    7am – 8am Mental Preparation for the Fighter (Machin –
    Instructor)
    8:30am – 9:30am: Breakfast
    10am – 12pm: Advanced ground (Koepfer – Instructor)
    Hip, Leg and Foot Submissions
    12:30pm – 2pm Advanced Ground (Fields – Instructor)
    Arm, shoulder, neck submissions
    2pm – 3pm: Lunch
    4pm – 6pm: Advanced standing (DeRose – instructors)
    Various throws and takedowns, throw to ground
    control/submission drills
    6:30pm – 7:30pm: Dinner
    8pm: Recreation time (Watch sambo and other martial
    art events/movies; hang out at beach, etc)
    10pm: Lights Out

    Sunday:
    6am – 7am: Conditioning games - at beach (Fields/Koepfer -
    Instructors)
    7am – 8am Mental Preparation for the Fighter (Machin –
    Instructor)
    8:30am – 9:30am: Breakfast
    10am – 12am: Competitive Combat Sambo (DeRose/Koepfer – Instructors)
    Applying strikes to your sambo game
    12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch
    2pm – 4pm: Non-Sport Combat Sambo (Machin – instructor)
    Weapons defense/practical fighting and striking
    4:30pm – 5:30pm Open Mat - Sparring
    6:30pm – 7:30pm: Dinner
    8pm: Award Ceremony and Camp Conclusion

    Schedule subject to change

    What should I bring?
    -At least two kurkta or gi tops (kurtka preferred)
    -Several pair of shorts and t-shirts
    -Wrestling or sambo shoes (optional)
    -MMA training gloves, cup, mouth piece, shin guards, and head gear
    -Sleeping bag or blanket, toiletries, and a towel
    -Bathing suit and sun-screen
    -plastic or wood training knife (no rubber knives)
    -Journal for taking notes

    What Will Be Covered for My Fee?
    -Three days/two nights room and board
    -Three days of sport, freestyle, and combat sambo training
    -Each participant receives a certificate of completion

    Non-ASA members - $400
    ASA members will receive their association discount:

    How often are these training camps held?

    Is there a minimum required age?

    I think I know Dayn but I can't remember....(been hit in the head much)

    There has been last minute coaching addition for the American Sambo Association’s upcoming camp.

    Oleg Taktarov has singed up to teach one of Friday’s sessions and be on the mat for the other sessions.

    Again, the camp is open to single and double day participation in addition to the whole weekend, contact Steve to get the details.
