BTW, anyone have links to the other fights? Gonzaga/Randy is the only one I saw because I was invited to go dancing with this hot girl and her hot sister, originally told them no, changed my mind and drove out to see them, then found out they had left because I originally wasn't going to show up with them.

I didn't think Randy was winning by a whole lot at that point, though I was giving him the round. Gonzaga was doing exactly what I thought he was going to do: stuff most of Randy's takedowns, and be able to get right back up when he didn't land in an advantageous position. That's actually why I picked Gonzaga to win overall.

Of course, I AGAIN completely forgot about Randy's ability to place accurate punches on his opponent's jaw time and time again. Damn-it Randy! Damn you for being so awsome!

The only thing I really want to get across is that Randy deserved that win and there's no reason to try to discredit what he did.

Randy most definitely deserved that and proved yet again that he is a mother-fucking bad-ass who we should really, really stop discounting.

I don't think it was as much a broken nose (although it undoubtable contributed) as much as it was broken spirit. I think what broke Gonzaga's spirit was Couture's ability to shots and respond, not by falling down, but by clinching and pressing him up against the cage time and time again. Gonzaga bought into his own hype when he KOed Cro Cop, and thought he was some kind of striking god. Randy took a couple really hard shots, and while he was visably phased by some of them, he just kept coming ("he took it like a champ" I believe is the expression, litterally true in this case). When Gonzaga told the ref "I can't see," what he was really saying is: "I want someone else to stop this fight so that I won't have to admit to myself that I just got my ass handed to me by a 44 year old."

Shitty for Gonzaga..that is a bitch to deal with. But he was so throughly owned in every other respect it hardly matters. Couture controlled that fight without question.
It could be that people have overblown Gonzaga a bit because of his upset win over Cro Cop...or it could be that Randy is just fucking awesome.

St.Pierre looked very focused and I hope now that Koscheck will STFU.
