In boxing the coach is yelling "Punch harder!"

You definitely need a level of skill before you can even start sparring. Otherwise it's very likely no one will come back.
What gym is it-post a link. And, is it the only gym?

It is the only gym that meets my schedule/location needs.

keeponpunching.com although the website doesn't reflect anything about the actual gym it seems.

My boxing gym is in a stinky old building opened in 1968, and there is no website.

Unless you want to take a 22 hour plane ride (I'm assuming you live in the US) it probably would'nt do you any good.

Gleason's charges $80/month for a gym membership (gets you in the door) plus whatever is negotiated directly with your trainer (there are dozens on site charging from $20/hour on up).

Mendez has an all-you-can-eat plan (membership plus unlimited 90 minutes training sessions) for $185/month with a coupon (google if you want it).

I can't speak to the prices of any others.

As for sparring: what everyone else said.

Thank you! That information makes me a LOT more comfortable with the memberships in these places. It is always difficult when unfamiliar with standards in the area.
