Well, if I would cry bs on this paticualr site and person I would list the following as red flags. I would not call bs until a visit or conversation was completed but I would remain suspicious.
He 2 point of his 4 pillars is
2) Dian Mai (Dim Mak) as a viable method of self defense.
He list Chuan Fa as a style and gives this discription: This art borrows from its theory from Chen family tai chi chuan and Bagua. It borrows its methods from these styles as well as long fist and southern five animals.
Chuan fa, as far as I remeber, is a long fist art that several Kenpo people claim lineage to or at least here in NYC they do. Usually Chuan Fa is a a hodge podge art, in my experience, of Kenpo/Long fist/sports karate and any other possible art. This does not denote fraud or bs but is usually a red flag.
It is a non-sport art or so it claims. This is usually a red flag and it could mean few things. They may have a to lethal for street mentality, poor quality of teaching thus competing against other schools may lead to comparrison by their studensts which they may not want, keep their students away from other schools due to bad reputation of the teacher, or many other reasons.
He is a Soke......as far as I am concerned, being from NY, it is a BIG red flag! But all of this is only my opinion but I am sure there are others here who are a bit more adept at picking out the issues with this person. -

Adding religion to MA is not really a red flag. Many TMA systems couple religion, philosophy or community generated beliefs. It may be a indicator to look more closely but it is not a screaming red flag.
Being a MCdojo may not be a bad thing when concerning the buisness practice side.(Just my opinion and I know people have diffrent views on this subject)
Yeah that is a bit odd as if being a physically fit is something beyond the "average"person's scope and ability to attain.Code:An art for "the average person" just screamed McDojo at me.

I didn't say I KNEW anything was BS, otherwise, I said I was suspicious (re: "smelled" it), and thought I'd bring it up here... but in retrospect I should have used more discretion.
As for the "average person" remark, it was more me being wary of this being another 'parks and recs' affair, like a daycare class for kids or an alternative to power walking - as opposed to a serious fighting art and fighting school. -
