The Kukkiwon Cert. Fraud

It's not very searching friendly, though. I had to put my full name, first, middle, last, before mine showed up. Just the last name gave no results, first and last gave no results, and first, middle initial, and last didn't give any results. I actually went to my closet and pulled out my old kukkiwon cert. to see exactly how my name was written before I tried writing out my full middle name. My dan was from 1999, though, so at least the database is not just for new certificates.

Also: When I first read the thread title, I expected the obligatory "why would anyone want to have a fake certification in TKD?" joke before I read what the complaint actually was :)

Wow, I'm actually in there. Too bad I couldn't find another guy I think forged his certifacte.

Is it just me or is everyone thinking this is a sign from the sky to quit TKD and take up BJJ?

PS - I'm papered and pedigreed. Didn't make me feel in more invincible than I did without the cert and probably wouldn't help with the feeling of uselessness that accompanied my first wake up call in a BJJ school.....

We went through this at my TKD club 15 years ago. there was no internet at the time, but one of my instructors called KKW himself and we found out that we were not registered. No paperwork had ever been submitted. Sh*t hit the fan at the club after that. My Dan cert is dated like a year after my test...LOL. I quit the school shortly after that. I would suggest anyone in NYC area at SY Kim's TKD check out their ranks.

Neither am I and I tested in Korea! I typed in every variation on my name I could think of and got nothing. Good thing I've got my cert and membership card still.
