No wonder I've been feeling so good these last few months.
Every morning, I take fish oil and flaxseed oil pills (plus Vit C, glucoseamine and a multi) I also eat a lot of whole foods too, but so far I feel great.“We are surrounded by warships and don’t have time to talk. Please pray for us.” — One Somali Pirate. -

Those must be some huge pills then.

Six ounces of each of these types of salmon will get you the following grams of omega-3 fatty acids.
Salmon, Chinook

Salmon, Atlantic

Salmon, Sockeye

Salmon, Coho

So I wouldn't really say that you get quite that much from two pills unless they are super concentrated. The highest concentrations of EPA or DHA in a single pill were around 800 mg in different brands. Not 800 of each in one pill.
So you really have to eat a lot of fish to get the same from pills but saying you get the same as five servings of salmon in two pills is really really pushing it.
I found the figures for the omega-3 content of various fish here (which correlates with other sites I've looked at pretty damn well):

Great find A.D.D!!! I carry some fish oil caps (600mg) in my gym bag, but I've been eating a lot of fish lately (and I mean lots), so I hope I'm getting enough of those omega thingies.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris -

My flaxseed oil doesn't have EPA or DHA information on the bottle. Just says "Omega 3" 1gm of flaxseed oil. The fish oil is 216mg EPA and 144mg DHA with a total 2.4g of fish oil concentrate.
And I think that 6 Oz of fish is a large portion. I usually go for 3 to 4 oz. size, and fill out the meal with vegetables and rice, or perhaps a soufle'
I think we'll have to have some Atlantic Salmon tommorrow night. Oh Yeaaa...“We are surrounded by warships and don’t have time to talk. Please pray for us.” — One Somali Pirate. -

6oz of fish isn't that much for me. I regularly eat 7.1oz portions of that "fish in a bag" of either salmon or light tuna. But I do also take 3 gelcaps a night from a company called "Health from the Sun." They make some of the best Omega-3 supplements out there, and they've been certified by consumerlab.com as being low in mercury and guaranteed to have the stated amount of omega-3.
They make a super-concentrated oil in a bottle, but I can't handle the taste or fishburps, even if it is orange-flavored. The gelcaps are less of a problem. What I'm thinking of doing is making my own capsules with the oil in them, get the best of both worlds.
Please make sure you have a good supplement. You don't want one filled with mercury, and you don't want more Omega-6 or Omega-9's - you already get a shitload of those in your diet if you're like most Americans who eat oily foods. -

Make sure your caps are enteric coated and/or freeze them to avoid the fish burps.
You should also take them with a meal to avoid the fish burps and so your body doesn't burn it for energy since it is just fat afterall.
Edit: I take between 12 and 16 500 mg caps and have also tried Carlson's lemon flavored fish oil and have never gotten that not so fresh feeling from the oil.
