I was watching Hamill do little or nothing to hurt his opponent.
And I saw bisping do even less. All he did, was circle, circle, run, circle, throw a combo at hamill that would miss, then circle some more. Bisping deserved the 3rd round, and that was it.

I was suprised that Bisping won the decision. It seemed to me that Hammill was dominating- I blame the whole "home crowd"

one thing to note though...the judges weren't home crowd judges.

they were judges brought in by the UFC (hence cecil fuckin peoples)
much like the drug testing will be administered by their very own Ratner

i'd love to hear the brits reactions to all this. I wonder if bisping will get boo'd the next time he fights in the UK

i was pulling for bisping to arm bar hamills asss to remind him of how it went down during the show. So its not like i WANT to see hamill win, but i'm gonna have to call it like i see it

Round two had two takedowns by Hamill (though I'm not sure one of them was even considered as he kept Bisping on his ass for all of four seconds) and absolutely nothing coming from the takedowns. Hamill had a few strikes immediately following Bisping's escape from the ground after the second takedown, but otherwise spent the round missing and occasionally landing what looked (at times) equal parts push and punch. Bisping defended one takedown attempt, a number of his strikes and a left high kick were taken on the arms by Hamill, but he caught Hamill cleanly on a greater number of strikes, he threw more, and worked (a bit poorly) for submissions from the bottom, which was still more than Hamill did on the ground. Was round 2 clear cut for Bisping? No. Was it a debatable round? Enough so that two judges gave Bisping the nod.

Hammill's big mistake was in not going in for the finish after he kept putting Bisping on his ass. He seemed hellbent on trying to punish Bisping in a standup fight in an effort to prove that he could, instead of just going in for the kill on the ground where he'd clearly dominate.

Ultimately, I suppose, it's Hammill's own fault for losing by abandoning attempts at submission and instead trying to KO Bisping. But rounds 1 and 2 were his regardless, and the judge(s) were clearly erroneous as far as I can see.

hamill would never have submitted bisping. He's not even close to him in submission ability. However, I do agree he screwed up royally by letting him up. He should have stayed on top and GnP'd through a TKO.

Dominant GNP would have cinched the second round for him, rather than leaving it up in the air. Even if it still went to a decision, Hamill could have pounded out a victory on the ground with, I think, little difficulty.

ok, just watched the post fight interview with bisping. I got some respect back for him. He feels he won the fight for sure, but he was not disrespectful at all. He gives a lot of credit to hamill for his strength, punching power and chin. So, to those of you that think bisping is a dick for not saying he should have lost, it's a lot easier for you to say that. His perspective is a lot different than yours.
