Wow, what a childish and ignorant response to a little (very legitimate) journalistic criticism. I usually like Dana White but he made himself look like a complete jackass in that little rant. If you can't take criticism than you shouldn't have a high profile job that brings you into the public life. White should know better but instead he's whining like a little bitch because he's getting criticized. If he had just ignored it it wouldn't have mattered but you can tell they hit a nerve by the way he's crying about it. Score one for Sherdog.

Bell2Bell, score one for sherdog? what kind of cheap weed are you smoking? I want some of that!

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
If I were in Dana White's shoes...I'd be doing exactly what he is doing. He and the Zuffa boys had an idea of what MMA could become. They knew that boxing was losing their fanbase. It took money, brains and balls to bring the UFC into some mainstream legitimacy.
Is he screwing the fighters? Maybe. That's something the fighters themselves (and their agents) will have to address.
The fact that Sherdog annoyed him enough to make him comment is a victory for Sherdog. And Dana White knows it. He just doesn't care. He said it himself. They USED to matter. No one cares what Sherdog says anymore. They have become irrelevant to the vast majority of MMA fans.

Steroids are in fact a big problem in the fight game specifically as well as the sporting world at large. I'm not sure that I have a big problem with the way White has handled steroid use but I'm positive that he came off like a spoiled child with the way he responded to that article. If he's so sure he's right he could comfortably ignore Sherdog's criticism... after all, Sherdog doesn't matter right? Obviously Sherdog does matter and they obviously they made a strong point otherwise Dana wouldn't be worried about what they have to say. It's Dana's job to be a lightening rod for criticism and he did a piss poor job of it this time.

I agree with both your posts and additionally just wanted to add that Dana never responded to JG's main intent for the Open letter...That the commisions weren't doing enough and that Dana as the most powerful man in MMA right now should do more about the roid problem and not depend on "government" ie commisions to do the work for him.

Dana has the power to make a difference in MMA and should step up instead of responding in a childish mannner to JG's letter.
Oh and Dana please mix it up on the TUF shows...the format is getting old, let the guys have phone and other stuff and focus on the training and the fights not the forced "reality" TV aspect of it...we're a buch of guys and don't care about the drama.
Much as I hate Dana, I hate Josh more. I've thought both were idiots since my first encounters with them. Josh Gross once got mad at me for suggesting that Royler's performance vs Sak was pathetic. I almost had a stroke.
