Can we rename this thread to the 'Against all the odds, when Bullshido investigated more deeply, it looked like Tai Chi was the only CMA that actually spars'

I've heard of this 'Bak Shaolin Eagle Claw' style before, and remember seeing some more dynamic clips of their stuff in full contact, and I remember the high kicking and big 'loopy' looking hands they threw did actually remind me of stuff I saw in their forms.

I couldn't find those other clips focussed on the full contact though, so there it is.

A *ing *un instructor vs. (IIRC) a much less experienced kickboxer. Been posted before. But this does actually look like what I always thought Wing Chun would look like if you could get it to work, and IIRC it is real (rather than compliant) sparring.

Taikiken is the Japanese name for 'Yi Quan' an offshoot of Xing Yi which AIUI has a higher incidence of schools that spar and less forms (founded in China in the 19th century).

Don't be confused by the Youtube description that says it's 'kempo'.

There's an international Yi Quan organisation that has full contact and push hands competitions. Their push hands is standup wrestling.

Here are some 'Taikiken' guys vs Kyokushin blackbelts in barenuckle sparring. They are the ones wearing what seem to be ordinary street clothes instead of Gis. I think they do ok.

I found this when I searched youtube for 'Baji sparring'. It was tagged with 'Baji' and 'Longfist'. From NYC Wutang, where AIUI they also teach a lot of IMA stuff. Barenuckle, so contact level may be questionable. Doesn't look compliant to me.

Barenuckle Lei Tai matches from China in 1986. Lots of moves I recognise from different CMA styles as opposed to Muay Thai or Wrestling.
