Don't sigh anthony.
We aren't making any bizarre claims here.
It's just that I think that people should have a little bit of respect for grand masters that have passed away. I'm pretty sure that Hannibal knew nothing about Yip Man until he read this thread. 2 pages of posts does not give him any reason to call yip man a little fucking pot head. -

I tend to disbelieve the story of Yip just showing up to a class showing one move and walking out. Yip Man addicted or not, turned out enough talented students that I don't think his teaching would have normally been that poor. That being said, he was a traditional chinese teacher who wasn't communicative the way we would expect a modern martial arts teacher to be. No one seems to remember as well that the opium addiction stories come from William Chung whose crediablity is not that great because he claimed that Yip showed him, and only him, the real secrets behind Wing Chun (not even showing his son this secret) William then altered the footwork to his style of Wing Chun perhaps making it better, however his claims about Yip are not always true.

Go tell Duncan Leung that Yip Man ripped him off.
There's no way that a teacher who ripped people off would have so many students who can fight like hell.
Ripping people off is not giving them what they pay for. His students got what they paid for...believe me. It wasn't cheap, but it was among the best instruction in the world. -

You are right. But it was because he wasn't teaching them the wooden dummy by demonstrating one technique on the dummy at a time. He was showing one Wing Chun movement for them to work on. Yip Man NEVER taught the dummy sections to a general class of people.Leung, I think that him showing one move on the dummy is an exageration. There's no way that 3 hand forms, 2 weapons forms and a dummy form can be taught by simply
He seriously detested teaching. As far as he was concerned it was below him.
