    correct

i personally think they should seperate them anyway

it should just be best boxer and best mixed martial artist

i still dont think you guys get it - its still a fighter of the year award - even when the award was just for best boxer instead of best fighter the pound 4 pound king of boxing didnt take it every year -

you have to wow the fans during the time period that the nominations are made...fedor has fought and beat matt lindland...i guess thats kinda cool - perhaps they considered the hunt and coleman fights as well -

however i think these accomplishments fall short of the 4 belts in two weightclasses floyd has won over the same streach of time - i would also say oscar de la hoya - at 154 was a much bigger risk than any of those fights fedor was in

it also had far more public attention seeing that his fight broke all time revenue and ppv records

its a award voted on and given by the people - apparently boxing is so dead that 2 boxers finished before any MMA fighters...one being cotto...this kinda throws the joe rogan theory out the window that boxing cant make new superstars since MMA has taken over -

nobody knew who cotto was last year

Why not call it "Combat sportsman" to avoid the whole mma/boxing comparison?
