Swick and Leben arent gonna have their rematch
so Swick went ahead and signed on to fight Goulet
but whats interesting is, now Leben is also signed...to fight Terry Martin
I guess Leben is scared of Swick at this point....especially after a poor showing against Starnes
and other news, Bonnar packed his bags and moved into Xtreme Couture to train

Tyson Griffin vs Thiago Tavares @ UFC 76
what a great fight this is gonna be!
damn, Tyson is just building a huge video library of great fights (win or lose)
UFC lightweight contender Tyson Griffin – having already been involved in two Fight of the Year candidates with Frankie Edgar and Clay Guida – confirmed Saturday he would be fighting undefeated Brazilian Thiago Tavares at UFC 76 Sept. 22 in Anaheim, Calif.
Griffin (9-1), the only man to hold a victory over WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber, defeated Clay Guida by split decision at UFC 72 in June. He is 2-1 since entering the UFC and now trains under UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture in Las Vegas.
Tavares (13-0), a 22-year-old emerging star in the 155-pound division, submitted Jason Black by second-round triangle choke at UFC Fight Night in June. He has secured 10 of his 13 career wins by submission. An MMA pro since age 19, Tavares has seen only two of his fights reach the judges.

Report: Diego Sanchez Has Left Team Jackson
“The Ultimate Fighter 1” middleweight winner and current top-10 UFC welterweight Diego Sanchez has cut ties with Greg Jackson’s camp in New Mexico and is relocating to California.
That’s the word from a report in yesterday’s edition of The Albuquerque Tribune.
UFCjunkie.com (www.ufcjunkie.com) is working to confirm the news.
If true, the move would be another setback for Team Jackson. By the end of 2006, the camp was among the most successful in mixed-martial arts. However, the team has since suffered losses by Sanchez (vs. Josh Koscheck at UFC 69), Joey Villasenor (vs. Murilo Ruo at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Baroni), Keith Jardine (vs. Houston Alexander at UFC 71) and Nate Marquardt (vs. Anderson Silva at UFC 73). Additionally, Rashad Evans was unable to secure a win at UFC 73 and instead fought Tito Ortiz to a disappointing draw.
There’s no word on where Sanchez will continue training. On Sept. 22, he’ll face American Kickboxing Acamademy’s Jon Fitch, who owns a 14-2 record (and perfect 6-0 mark in the UFC), at UFC 76 in Las Vegas.
The winner will gain ground in the UFC’s stacked welterweight division, but any possibility of a title shot is a long way off. Current champ Matt Serra will face Matt Hughes meet at a Dec. 29 pay-per-view show, and the winner of UFC 74’s main-card bout between Koscheck and Georges St. Pierre has already been guaranteed a title shot by UFC president Dana White.
The earliest anyone else could fight for the title is likely mid-2008.

Speaking of Sanchez, we received some email last week from curious MySpace users who noticed that he and girlfriend (and UFC ring girl) Ali Sonoma may be engaged. A series of photos and subsequent captions supported their claims.
UFCjunkie.com recently contacted Sononma, but she said she preferred to keep the matters private.

Florian to replace Fisher
After a recent announcement by Miletich fighter, Spencer Fisher, via his MySpace blog that he had to drop out of his upcoming fight with Din Thomas due to a staph infection, MMAWeekly has confirmed from sources close to the fight that Fisher’s replacement will be Kenny Florian.
The fight between Fisher and Thomas was taking place as the main event on the upcoming September 19th UFC Fight Night as a lead in to the 6th season of the Ultimate Fighter show featuring coaches Matt Serra and Matt Hughes.
Both fighters were gunning for a potential #1 contender slot for the UFC lightweight title and a bout between Kenny Florian and Din Thomas should be no different.
Kenny Florian, who last fought on July 7th when he defeated Alvin Robinson at UFC 73, will be making his 3rd appearance in the Octagon in under 6 months.
Din Thomas has rejuvenated his career of late after appearing on the Ultimate Fighter season 4 and has reeled off 3 wins in a row since the show ended.
The fight between Florian and Thomas would almost guarantee the winner a top slot along with fighters like Joe Stevenson as top contenders to the UFC lightweight title.
The bout between Kenny Florian and Din Thomas will take place live on Spike TV from the Palms in Las Vegas, NV on September 19th at 9pm EST.

According to MMA Weekly, the Diego Sanchez split with his camp was amicable. Diego wanted to move to Cali to be with his son.

How is Sanchez anyway? I thought he had some horrendous, almost career-ending staph infection. Has he recovered? Was it a bunch of bullshit in the beginning?
