UFC Purse inequalities...

I'm curious as to the reason why there are sometimes absolutely ridiculous gaps in purse winnings between fighters.

Apparently Tito made 210K at Stacked, while Rashad only made 16K. ****, with that money, Tito can train full time for a year and live very, very comfortably. Rashad can, what, buy a used car?

Now, clearly Tito is a much more established fighter with a long career and has been highly marketable, but for chrissake that's a $194,000 difference for a match that ended up a tie.

It's late and I really don't want to hunt through all the "UFC Salary" threads that get posted after every event but it's been something I've been noticing for a while now. There are just some really f'd up purse inequalities at almost every event.

Do the fighters make any good money from sponsorships? They must get something nice from plastering ads all over their shorts, shirts, and hats?

For what it's worth, I saw a couple links to recent UFC events and other really good examples would be Gonzaga winning with $290K less than CroCop, and Quinton Jackson getting 225K to Chuck's 500K.

The bigger the star, the better chances when negotiating deals -> bigger paydays. But I think UFC is paying way too little to the average fighters compared to how much they make profit these days. 8-16K for a fight is a pitiful sum if want to rise the amount of full-time fighters. Hopefully those guys get good money from sponsorship deals.

BTW. How much do fighters get in the smaller promotions?

Even Chris Lytle got more than Rashad. Granted, he won his fight and Rashad only drew, but Rashad is a winner of TUF and arguably has more cachet for UFC promotional purposes.

wait till the UFC lets in female fighters, and they start complaining about the glass ceiling in pay where they all make "73.5¢ to the dollar" of male fighters. Next thing ya know there will be marches outside Dana's Death Sta....I mean home.

Isn' t that how it's always been? Bigger stars get bigger money.
Tito is not worth 210K, however. Tito needs to retire his ass.

Dana white said they'd "never" have female fighters.
