Okay, I'm now officially lost.

The video says Ving Tsun vs. MMA. Now what part of the video the OP posted has MMA rules?

It sounds like everyone is talking about 2 different videos. In the highlight video there is nothing to suggest MMA rules.

Fair enough. Now I think I understand what you are getting at and I can see how one could say their highlight clip is exaggerated if no one from their school were participating in rounds such as what you showed between yourself and MM. So, is that what you are saying - that they only participated in the stand-up rounds?

All but one guy, the same guy talked about in post 47 of the thread I linked to.

Oh and another guy who rolled strictly grappling with me and said being "tired" was the reason he tapped to an ankle lock.

The parts of the video the OP posted which were MMA rules are the parts which seem to be on the cutting room floor. :smile:

Hedgehogey, selfcritical, and I are referring to a video of Hedgehogey and Maestro Nobones (I originally missed the fact it was him) taken at the same throwdown which Hedgehogey referenced in his 1st post in this thread.

I've PMed Aaron and Grond to let them know about this thread. However, since neither have posted anything in quite some time, I really don't know whether they will check their PMs. And, even if they do, I don't know whether either might respond.

I know in the meantime Aaron has been training some Sambo in Los Angeles, and am curious if his students would be somewhat more literate on the ground now. I'll just ask him if I go to one of his conditioning classes again (which are pretty fly, regardless of what is or is not true about his martial pedigree_

Okay. Then DA is being dumb on purpose. To say Ving Tsun VS MMA when the OP video is obviously not MMA is bullshido.

1 BJJ guy who does very sporadic muay thai and has no depth perception (me)

2 tang soo do people

and a shaolin do guy.

So to answer the OP:

Yes, they hosted a Throwdown a while ago. Their guys seemed to do okay in the standup, and Hedgehogey still has sand in his vagina over the event. :pity: There was little rolling or actual "MMA", since they did not really have the facilities for it. They are open to different forms of sparring/training. The majority of the Bullshido videos have not been seen in a while.

Does that answer what you were wondering, FLG?

I always miss that "DA" is me. :P I'm not trying to be dumb though. Fact is, Bullshido.net is mainly seen as an MMA board by the martial arts world. Yes, those of us who actually participate here for any length of time realize that it's more "MMA" in the old sense of the term (a mix of different martial arts) than in the sports fighting sense. But if MaverickZ, Pl4sma, DerAuslander, Stick and I showed up at a Tai Chi school and got called "those damn MMA guys", it'd make perfect sense. Would you rather the sub-title say "VT vs. some MMA guys"? Or "VT vs. some people from Bullshido"? Or "VT in stand-up only rules vs. some random people from the interwebs who sometimes post on Bullshido.net"? For you to be saying that the Austin group is trying to lie or misrepresent themselves is a rather big accusation.
