I saw this video on youtube which claims that the 2004 austin throwdown was held there and suggests their fighters did well

Is there any truth to these claims?

I've never personally watched Aaron's guy's spar, but i've been to a few of his conditioning classes......they're pretty intense. If that class if an indication of their level of physical preparedness, they should be able to give most newb strikers a problem on the basis of aggression and cardio alone.

I was there and am the one in the brown shirt. Here's the facts:

1: Noone there is/was an MMA fighter. Noone. Calling it "wt vs. mma" is dishonest. Those are standup only rounds, as you can see by the lack of mats.

2: They made an enormous stink about me having the sheer chutzpah to armbar one of them during an explicitly MMA round, which you can see on post 47 of this thread.

3: They selectively edited the clips to make themselves look good. Previously, grond had uploaded several clips of MMA rules sparring where they, frankly, blew, groundworkwise. Even during the standup (which I am fairly godawful at), they edited out me holding grond with underhooks and kneeing him in the ribs repeatedly.

4: You can hear Aaron Vyvial giving terrible advice to both me and Maestro Nobones on this video.

Yeah, I'd call bullshido on the video editing.

If they do, Grond has them. Somehow, I doubt he'll be releasing them.

Also note that the best thing they can say about themselves is that they once hosted a throwdown and have existed for three years.

I'm having a hard time hearing him say anything other than telling you to breathe.

My brain interpreted that as "you'll tire less quickly if you quit holding your breath", but I just listened to it, and..............hopefully he's just really inarticulate? Ok, I can't deny it, it sounds silly
