Yes, likely. The San Soo people are the shitty kenpo clone claiming that their grand master Jimmy Woo's uncle killed barehanded the Japanese karate (or was it Judo?) instructor of the regiment occupying their village during WW2 and was gunned down for it.
Very down-to-earth, believable story, you see. -
