    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Randy Couture talks about energy and chi in training

Check out the vids on this site, in the first two Randy is exposed to a product called the 'Strap.' Apparently it works using the bodies chi to give you greater endurance.

Also there is a cool vid of Randy doing his high intensity training at the bottom.

Any way what do you make of this?

(i did a search and couldnt find anything on this, but appologies if it is a repost.)

You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

My high-energy training routine involves someone chasing me around with a strap and "strapping" me across the buttocks when I try to slow down.

He might actually believe it. Fromt he sound of it, he already does some Chinese medicine stuff, so it'd be easy to be taken in by something like this. Foot in the door already kind of thing. I don't think all Chinese medicine is ineffective, Accupuncture has some Western medical science to support it, but this Strap thing is clearly a cheap trinket based on the Placebo effect.

Of course, it could be the money too. I don't think it is. Randy seems more likely to make a bad decision on this than to do something unethical, but the idea that a bracelet and necklace can improve balance by focusing Chi is such a load of crap I can't rule out the possibility that its something he just did for the money.

Also, the guy Randy was talking to had to be the worst product spokeman ever.

Finally I know something about, since I've never taken a martial arts class in my life. :tongue5:

    1. Quantum physics is not the study of energy, it's the study of physics as defined in quantum theory.
    2. The idea that all matter is actually energy is not only a bastardization of Einstein's hard work but also entirely unrelated to quantum physics.
    3. Even though individual particles have different levels of energy, particles don't necessarily emit any of it, and these states become less apparent as things get bigger, to the point where they appear virtually meaningless in our everyday experience.
    4. Quantum theory is outdated and incomplete.
    5. The guy talking sounds like a douchebag because he doesn't know what he's talking about.
