I coach to LEO and I've seen guys go unconscious on the mat but we're very strict about arms and joint damage. Doesn't do anyone any good to not be able to work for a few weeks. In regular BJJ though I've broken someone's collar bone (yes I felt like a dick about it) I swept him from butterfly guard and had his lowside arm trapped against his body. He just sort of landed 'funny' you know?

I broke a good friend of mines arm while grappling. Although not in an armbar. It was a mishap fall while I was trying to throw him, he landed wrong on his arm and pop, he broke one of the bones in his forearm.
I bought him lots of beer to compensate in the aftermath."a martial art that has no rules is nothing but violence" - Kenji Tomiki -

<dull post alert>
Can't we keep this on-topic chaps? I thought it was about how some schools of Vee Arnis Jitsu teach unrealistic compliant "self-defense" drills? It was funny when the Vee Arnis Jitsu nutrider started blindly defending his beloved art but alas he has been swamped by some grappling nerd-speak.
