I could make a phone call and get at least one brown and one black belt to corner for me on a few hours notice (not that I've any intention of ever getting a fight). That one phone call would also result in at least a dozen people showing up.
There's a fucking problem being described on this thread.

You have to understand that there are no real MMA gyms on Long Island, especially out east. The school LI Guy, and GI Joe go to is probably the closest thing in the area. There are half a dozen schools who have MMA on their window, but they don't have anybody competing or anyone who has competed. I really believe that gym is probably going to be the MMA gym on LI. Also please remember that this fight isn't taking place an hour away, it's taking place in Albany, NY around 3 hours away from their school. The MMA community is so small on LI, that it's really hard to find cards and then match people up so that your fighter won't get killed at his first fight.

I forgot there's KTFO out there by Islip Airport, but I don't know if they have any fighters yet.

Hre it is:
Hint: I'm the winner. Quality is iffy but when he gets dazed from the shots he bends over to charge at an attempt to go down, I one arm guilitine. I am awesome.

None of what you posted makes a damn bit of difference.
About 4 months ago my instructor got a call that one of our browns took a fight, later that evening. He and one of other browns drove the guy 5 hours for a thirty second fight (our guy won by armbar). I doubt the asked (or had to) for gas money.
He needs to find a new gym if he is at all serious about competing.

Oh damn look at that I won! Honestly though I understand you 100% UpaLumpa. Next time I'll plan it better, see if they go and everything. I plan to fight again in September (BTW is that too far/close/just right?)
Hopefully my school sees I am serious and they jump on the competition bandwagon to. We'll see.

Many congrats are in order for that quick decisive win. I don't have much else to add, except that it turns out you didn't need any help with cornering prep since it didn't make it to that point.
Yes, I am smarter than you are.

Yeah, screw cornering. Just win in the first round. I think that's how Kat handles it...
