    What is an endswell?

I know what it looks like and what it does, but how does it work? May sound dumb but I don't know. Is it cold? How does a piece of metal help the swelling go down?

    endswell
Athletic commission approved clotter (usually adrenaline, avintine or thromblin)
    sponge
    extra mouthpiece
    extra tape
extra cup (just in case; I've seen breaks happen.)
    vaseline
    towel
    stool
Sterile gauze pads, sterile cotton and cotton tipped swabs.

Use the endswell, not a cold towel. Don't spray the anti clot stuff, put it on a cotton swab and press it in firmly.

Don't ice a muscle in the middle of a match. Rub it down to get the blood flowing back into it; if you're feeling overheated, get the ice on top of your head and have your corner fan you with the towel.

    Good advice :)

Me and Kat are always so unprepaired for our fights. In our corner we generally have a bottle of water, towel, and maybe some vaseline.

Much appreciated White Shark, KidSpatula, and Ojsxr6.

Can I get all of that at an Eckerd or similar? They didn't have an endswell or any clotting stuff at the CVS I went to, I will try a few more out in a bit. I guess I will be better prepared next time.

Where do you get adrenaline or thrombin?

So if I get cut, endswell(or icepack if I don't have one) to the cut, Q-tip with clot stuff on it, and a bit of vaseline to finish it off?

Nosebleed is would be: press a Q-tip with clot stuff on it in my nostril, and an icepack on it?

Lastly a lump would just be iced or endswelled during the break?

    Thanks a lot.

As to why none of my coaches will be there, well one might but I highly doubt it, it sucks big time but whatever.

I wouldn't try to get all those chemicals since you are not experienced using them. Cold and pressure are the most important things anyway. If you can't get an Enswell go buy some Dixie cups (the small paper kind) fill them with water and freeze them. Then tear the paper back slowly like you are eating a burrito when you want to use them for cold and pressure.

That's not an answer. Seriously, why? If you're having your first MMA fight and none of your coaches will show up, you need to seriously rethink where you're training.

If you're ever competing in Jersey, let me know. I'm licensed to corner here, and I have most of the **** you need lying around the house.

You need a license to corner? LOL didn't know that. Whatever, this is in NY so its not sanctioned, just classified as exhibition. So how do you get licensed to do it?

We went to a local boxing gym who is a friend with one of our trainers. He gave us a vile of adrenaline and swabs to use it with. Told us how too use it and to be careful. I think we have everything down now.

Our coaches aren't coming because they aren't. Deal with it cause thats your answer. They don't hate us or anything, they just can't make it as they planned too.

Only a towel and water? Damn you girls must be lazy. We were all freaking out trying to find stuff. Meh.

To work the corner in a pro boxing, kickboxing or MMA match you need to have your seconds license from the Athletic control board of the state the match is taking place in. It's not difficult to get; you just go to the offices of the ACB, fill out a form, and get your picture taken. If this match is an exhibition, you probably don't need ****.
