Doesn't say which style of jj he's an 8th dan in... I do like the fact they use clear and accurate descriptions of their arts:
They describe Shiai Jitsu as "Combat Jujitsu" on the instructors page, but on the Arts

Shiai-Jitsu
A sport version of Ju-Jitsu, developed to allow flat-out practice without sustaining serious injuries.

Why not just describe it as sport jj on the instructors page?
There seems to be a lot of sticking the word "Combat" in front of an established style to make it seem more attractive to the layman I guess, especially in the British martial arts scene...
That said, it looks like a good site, and some of the anti-bullying stuff they do/have done should be commended.

I know we've got some North West bullies, anyone have any first hand experience with these people?

Also, on the British Champion thing... there are so many orgs/titles etc that it's entirely plausible that he's the British Champion of something.

I don't know anything about this guy, but I've met 'world champion' kickboxers whose sanctioning body consisted of a circuit of about 3 clubs within 10 miles of each other.

Exactly... we had a club here that would rent a room in a leisure centre 50 miles away and then have an inter-club tournament and call it a national championship, complete with press coverage and medals.

Oh man… what have I been doing all of these years training? It only takes 5 hours? Think of all the time you would free up for yourself if you didn’t train… and it’s only $199.

Meh.
It seems pretty Mcdojo, but the guy has to pay the bills for his full time gym somehow.
Other than that, the place seems reasonable enough.

If the OP has that much of a beef, he could always go along and speak to Trevor himself.
He does after all say, "We like to meet new people and you are welcome to call in anytime to take a look around and discuss how we can help you!"

That's fair point on your part, NorthWest. and if I was in the UK, I'd definitely be keen to see what goes on in there. The issue is that this fellow is soliciting people all around the world to buy his tape, and I was wondering whether anyone had seen footage of his techniques, or heard of the man.

I recall an expose on this site about the "Prison Combat System" where an individual had purchased the instructional, and reviewed it on this site for everyone's benefit. I viewed this as a potentially similar case.

Also, on a personal note I'm a skeptic. I don't have a "beef" with anyone or anything, really. I am just interested in the truth. Who knows - maybe he does have some deadly techniques that can be learned in the space of a few hours. If so, great.

I've been a lurker here for a while, but as a Sambo practitioner myself I felt the need to finally join the forums for this topic. My instructor is a 4th Dan in Combat Sambo, and has been training in the style directly under a Master level wrestling coach for years now. When I go to the school tomorrow I will get the information to determine the length of time it takes to get to 6th Dan and I will also get the names of the federations we'd have to contact to find out if he's legit.
