Could Dalip Singh (great khali) fight MMA?

Does anybody think the Great Khali (Dalip Singh) could pose trouble to any heavyweights in MMA with a bit of training in it?

From what i gather about his Martial Arts training, he joined boxing clubs back in India (don't know how long or if he was any good). I have also read he was an athlete

' he is also a Pehelwaan athelete which means that he has been into Traditional Indian Wrestling since quite a lot of time. Traditional wrestling mind you requires a lot of practice and agility, and the Great Khali is actually quite agile in real life.'

Finally i have read ' Singh is a 387 pound power lifter from India who has an extensive background in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Japanese grappling, martial arts - akido and judo - Greco Roman wrestling, western wrestling and the Indian martial art of kalari.'

He also seems to be strong according to wikipedia ' Singh is the largest powerlifter ever, His resume includes repetitions of 600+ lb bench presses, 350+ shoulder presses, and curling over 200 lbs.

That to me seems he might pose some trouble in MMA, even if its not with UFC heavyweights, however there is still issues with his speed etc.

    What do you guys think?

Read this for flexibility and injury prevention, this, this and this for supplementation, this on grip conditioning, and this on staph. New: On strenght standards, relationships and structural balance. Shoulder problems? Read this.

New To Weight Training? Get the StrongLifts 5x5 program and Rippetoe's "Starting Strength, 2nd Ed". Wanna build muscle/gain weight? Check this article. My review on Tactical Nutrition here.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Well, first, if he weighs 387 lbs., he'll either have to cut 120 lbs. or fight in Japan or some other place where there's no upper weight limit on heavyweights.

Macho is probably right, but if this guy has real experience boxing and grappling, and trained for his fights, it wouldn't be impossible for him to win a few.

Can you arm bar someone who can lift your whole bodyweight with one arm?. There is a very funny Bob Sapp fight where he was getting armbarred while he was standing. Kept on bashing the guys head into the ground, Sapp still lost though :P.

His reach must be immense as well. :bully:

Oh, C'mon, PRIDE would have signed him to fight Genki Sudo in less time than it's taking me to post this.

You do realize that using terms like "mark", "heel", and "potatoe" paints you with the stigma of being a wrassling fan, don't you?
