it looks almost more like the body mechanics of a slap than a punch, and yes it looks very long-fisty to me.

Yes, I've seen that sort of stuff working in video of amateur kickboxing and San shou bouts with CMA styles that use those kind of big swinging movements. Is it 'optimal?' dunno. There's probably a good reason boxers don't do it.

Are there people who use it and make it work in a full contact setting? yep.

I thought the overhand right in general was supposed to be a "Grapplers" punch... Throw it so your opponents ands come up and then shoot in, or fake a shoot attempt so your opponents hands come down then throw that. Seems like if you're a good striker you've got better things to do than wing that thing around.

thrown like that it can be, but overhand rights don't have to be thrown that way to be overhand rights. I think that classifies more as "Looping Haymaker."

That wasn't a "lol he just lost post" it was a "lol Chuck rarely uses straight punches" and UFC fed him wrestlers for years yet when faced with a technical striker he got KTFO. lol circular punching.

Don't try to tell me what I can and can not lol at! :p lol
